Sanjhi Sikhiya addresses the ‘lack of learning’ for each and every child by following a systems convening approach at all levels of education infrastructure. At the village level, Sanjhi Sikhiya convenes Gram Sikhiya Sabhas (GSS) to engage the village community in school management. At the cluster level, Sanjhi Sikhiya conducts Cluster Academic Meetings (CAM) where teachers come together to discuss and collaborate on strategies for improving learning outcomes in their schools. The Punjab Youth Leaders Program brings young enthusiastic talent to implement the various initiatives at the village and cluster level bringing new energy into the ecosystem. Sanjhi Sikhiya also partners with leadership at the district level and the State Government to scale the impact of our work through the existing system.
We believe that lasting change can happen only when we :-

Super 100: A collective initiative by District Administration, District Education Office and Sanjhi Sikhiya to identify and celebrate the best practices of the teachers who go an ‘extra-mile’ to provide quality education to their students.
Last year, Ankit Chhabra, co-founder of Sanjhi Sikhiya, embarked on a remarkable 7-day Cycle Yatra from Fatehgarh Sahib to Amritsar—a journey spanning 350 kilometers and rich with encounters that reconnected him with the heart of Punjab. This journey was more than a physical challenge; it was an opportunity for Ankit to step outside Sanjhi Sikhiya’s daily operations and immerse himself in the perspectives and aspirations of the communities that inspire the organization’s mission.
Since founding Sanjhi Sikhiya, Ankit and his team have worked tirelessly to establish and refine processes that guide the organization’s growth. As Sanjhi Sikhiya evolved from a start-up into a mid-sized organization, a focus on operations and internal structures inevitably led to the creation of silos, drawing attention inward and away from newer connections outside the organization. This realization prompted Ankit to break from the routine, setting out on a journey that would reignite his connection with Punjab’s people and culture.
Throughout the Cycle Yatra, Ankit engaged in conversations with a diverse array of individuals—from farmers and educators to young students and local leaders—each offering unique insights and perspectives. These exchanges reminded him of the powerful impact Sanjhi Sikhiya could have by staying grounded in Punjab’s culture and community. The Yatra reinforced Ankit’s commitment to Sanjhi Sikhiya’s vision of empowering youth through quality education and leadership development.
The journey also marked a personal milestone, as Ankit celebrated his 35th birthday along the way. This experience reaffirmed his belief in the importance of continual growth and renewal for both the organization and its leaders.
The Yatra inspired not only community connections but also tangible support from Sanjhi Sikhiya’s network. With each kilometer cycled, supporters rallied around the mission, contributing to a fundraising effort that directly enhances Sanjhi Sikhiya’s capacity to impact Punjab’s youth. Thanks to the generosity of those who shared, donated, and encouraged, the funds raised now fuel programs across Punjab, driving the organization closer to its goal.
Although the Yatra has ended, its spirit and lessons continue to shape Sanjhi Sikhiya’s work. Ankit’s journey serves as a reminder of the power of stepping outside routines and embracing connections that enrich both personal and organizational growth.
